Noble sacked as Roos coach

David Noble has been sacked as coach of North Melbourne, confirmed by the club on Tuesday.

The 55 year old won just five games from 38 matches in charge, having taken over from Rhyce Shaw at the end of 2020.

North Melbourne have won just one game in season 2022, having lost their past 14 matches with 12 of those by more than 40 points, the weekend's seven point loss to Collingwood Noble's final game in charge.

"I gave my absolute heart and soul to the club, and I think I leave it in a better position for success in the future," Noble said.

"We all walk away comfortable that this is the right call for myself, my family and the club. I would have liked to have brought more success. I always worked in the club’s best interest, but ultimately the scoreboard doesn’t lie."

President Sonja Hood said the decision was one the club needed to make.

"David and I sat down last night and made the call together. I’ve been concerned for the last couple of weeks that it’s not working," she said.

"The feedback I’ve had from Geoff Walsh hasn’t changed my mind."

Leigh Adams takes over as caretaker coach for the remainder of 2022, having played 104 games for the club from 2007 to 2015.
