Norton ruled out for opening month

Wildcats vice captain Mitch Norton has been ruled out of the first five weeks of the new NBL season.

Norton continues to recover from a pre-season knee injury.

While initial scans cleared Norton of structural damage, Wildcats medical staff have opted to take a cautious approach with the two-time championship-winning point guard.

Norton hyperextended his right knee at a training session earlier this month and experienced bone bruising.

The Wildcats season begins this Friday night when they host the Adelaide 36ers.
