Oliver triumphs in VRC Oaks

Damien Oliver has won a record equally seventh VRC Oaks as a jockey piloting Willowy to victory.

Oliver and the three-year-old filly Willowy stormed home in the late stages to run down the Michael Dee-ridden Douceur in the Group One feature while Biscayne was third.

It is Oliver's third consecutive win in the 2,500-metre Oaks, following victories on board Miami Bound (2019) and Personal (2020).

His seventh win as a jockey means he equals the Oaks record held by Bobbie Lewis.
