Patterson and Kelly light up Scorchers

Kurtis Patterson belted 55 off 30 balls and Matt Kelly claimed four wickets to see the Scorchers home by six-runs against Brisbane Heat.

The Scorchers posted 6/157 after batting first alongside Patterson's knock Laurie Evans finished not out scoring a run a ball 33.

Patterson said he was just trying to enjoy his cricket more.

"I just really tried to treat (the game against Brisbane) almost like a free swing.

"There were no hard feelings about not getting opportunities to play last year.

Patterson has played three games with the Scorchers since moving over from the Sydney Thunder.

"I didn't try to go out there with a point to prove as such, I just tried to go out there and treat it like an opportunity and just tried to showcase my skills.

"My thinking is to leave the selection side of things to the powers that be."

Kelly claimed 4/28 from his four overs rediscovering his yorker to bowl well at the death to bowl the Heat out for 151 in the 20th over.

Perth are back in action taking on the Adelaide Strikers in Sydney on Saturday night.
