Patterson sets up Scorchers victory

The Perth Scorchers are three-points clear and undefeated at the top of the Big Bash table after a 42-run win over the Hobart Hurricanes.

Kurtis Patterson was given the opener duties and relished the opportunity belting 78 off just 48 balls including six fours and five sixes.

Ashton Agar chipped in at the close of the innings accumulating an unbeaten 30 from 11 deliveries to help to Perth to 7/167.

It was a slow chase by the Hurricanes that never got to any real great heights facing their full 20-overs and scoring 9/125.

Aj Tye did the damage with the ball claiming three wickets while Ashton Agar and Peter Hatzoglou chipped in securing two scalps each.

Perth are back in action on Wednesday night taking on the Melbourne Renegades.
