Paulele salutes as Godolphin claim group one triumph
Paulele has given Godolphin group one success at Ascot coming from last to win the Winterbottom Stakes.
Jockey Ben Melham scored his first group one triumph since February 2020.
Paulele turned into the straight with the entire field in sight before mowing them down in the final 100m to get the bob on the line.
Kissonallfourcheeks who put in a mighty performance finished runner-up while Mitchell Patemen's first group one runner This'll Testya ran third.
Melham said that the horse always had group one ability.

"James (Cummings) and I spoke this morning and we were happy to ride him quiet.
"Kissonallforcheeks gave me a lovely cart into the race and I knew we were going to be strong to the line because we had such an economical run."
Favourite Rothfire finished a length and half behind the winner in fifth place.
Attention now turns to the group up Northerley Stakes (formally the Kingstown Town Classic) next Saturday.
