The Perth Football league have launched a bid to hold footy on Rottnest Island.
Teams from all over the Metropolitan area will head across the water to compete on the build up to season 2022.
The Quokka Cup will see the first half of all matches played by men’s players before women’s players from the same club see out the second half.
Rules and final formats will be determined in the coming weeks based on uptake and other various factors but the cup will be considered a ‘light-hearted’ social event as opposed to a rigorous pre-season test.
The tournament is scheduled for March 12 on Rottnest and the PFL is currently calling on expressions of interest from clubs.
