Randall set for early Royals return

Royals midfielder Michael Randall has won his bid to have doping suspension reduced.

Randall who tested positive to the banned stimulant phentermine had his two-year sentence reduced to just 20-months.

The 22-year-old will be eligible to train with the Royals from March 4 and can play from round 5 of the upcoming WAFL season.

Randall played 30 games for Peel Thunder before making the move to the Royals and said he couldn't wait to don the Mighty Royals colours.

“I made a mistake, which I have owned and learnt from, hopefully, other athletes look at my example and have a greater understanding of their responsibilities when it comes to this stuff,” Randall said.

“I’d like to thank my family and East Perth for their unwavering support through this process.
