Restrictions enforced for Perth Cup

Perth Cup racegoers will need to show prove they have been double vaccinated to be allowed into the event on Saturday.

It is a first of its kind in WA as the WA Government looks to trial what it will look like for large gatherings.

Racing and Wagering in a statement said all involved would need to adhere.

  • All individuals attending Perth Cup must provide proof of being double dose vaccinated against COVID-19. This includes all patrons, staff, contractors, volunteers and industry participants.

  • Masks will be mandatory in all indoor and outdoor settings at the racecourse – except for jockeys while race riding.

  • Seated food and beverage consumption only.

Jockeys will not be required to wear masks while riding in the Perth Cup.

There could be expected changes to jockeys who now may become unavailable for the meeting due to the double vaccination mandate.
