Roy signs with Scorchers

The Perth Scorchers batting line up has been bolstered for BBL10, signing destructive England batsman Jason Roy for the tournament.
Roy played in England's ODI Cricket World Cup triumph last year, and is one of the best white ball batsmen in the world, averaging over 40 in ODI cricket from 93 matches and has played over 200 T20 matches around the world.
He has previously played for both the Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers, but will now wear the orange of the Scorchers in BBL10.
“The Scorchers squad looks very strong, I’m excited to be joining the club,” Roy said.
“I’ve heard the environment of the club is awesome and that it’s a place where everyone wants to help get the best out of each other.
“I can’t wait to get amongst the boys and help contribute to as many wins as possible.”
In other signing news fast bowlers Cameron Gannon and Joel Paris have also signed on for BBL10, Gannon joining the side after time with both the Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades while Paris will feature in his sixth season with the Scorchers.
Coach Adam Voges was excited with the additions to his squad.
“Jason is a world-class performer who will bring added power and experience to our top order. He is a great competitor and we look forward to welcoming Jason to the Scorchers.
“It’s great to be able to maintain a really strong WA flavour to our Scorchers squad. Both Joel and Cam bring plenty of experience and can fill a variety of roles throughout the tournament for us.”
The tournament is scheduled to start on December 3rd, with the current schedule likely to be re-drawn with hubs likely due to current travel restrictions around the country.
