Sage questions Olyroos team management

Perth Glory owner Tony Sage says clubs should be concerned about what happens off the pitch when players are selected on representative duties.

Glory player Brandon Wilson was one of four players suspended from Olyroos Olympic selection for Tokyo 2020 after breaking team rules at a tournament in Cambodia earlier this year.

"Well look, when players are picked and are out of our hands we always worry." Sage told SportFM's SportsLine.

"We mainly worry about injury more than anything, are they being over trained, did they get picked and then did they play.

"This has highlighted inadequacy at the management level of whoever was in charge of the team when they were over there."

Whilst Sage admitted they had not be given a lot of information the club were being very supportive of their player.

"I'd like a bit more colour as to why young players were left to fend for themselves."
