Scorchers flames doused by Strikers
The Perth Scorchers are now just one win from three games after falling to the Adelaide Strikers by 15-runs in a high scoring run fest at the Adelaide Oval.
Adelaide batted first and had their rain interrupted innings reduced to 18-overs where they amassed 7-198 largely thanks to Jake Weatherald who belted 83 from 47 balls before being run out.
Skipper Alex Carey knocked up a quick 55 from 24 deliveries to give Adelaide the momentum heading into the innings break.
Perth opened up with a blistering 124-run stand between Liam Livingstone (69) and Josh Inglis (50) but from the fall of the opening duo a solid partnership could not be established.
The Scorchers fell short posting 7-183.
Livingstone said it was disappointing that the boys couldn't finish the job.
“I thought Ingo played brilliantly, his job is to play proper cricket shots at the top of the order and he played some extraordinary strokes tonight.
“The boys will bounce back and we’ll shake off this result."
Perth next host the Sydney Sixers at Perth Stadium on Boxing Day.
