Scorchers head to top of Big Bash table
The Perth Scorchers have cruised to a six-wicket victory against the Melbourne Stars at Optus Stadium.
Ashton Turner belted 53 from 26 balls to guide the home side to victory in the 18th over chasing down the target of 136.
Adam Lyth got the scoreboard rate ticking early with 35 from 30 balls but former South African International Faf DuPlessis didn't fire, out for just three.
All-rounder Aaron Hardie was sent in at number three and was dismissed for 17.

Earlier, Jhye Richardson claimed four wickets for the second time this season while Jason Behrendorff and AJ Tye both captured two wickets each as the Stars reached 135, dismissed on the final ball of their innings after winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
Richardson struck twice in two balls in the fourth over and also in the 14th over to finish with figures of 4/25 and man of the match honours.
Perth are back in action again on New Years Day when they face the Melbourne Renegades at Marvel Stadium.
