Scorchers running hot towards finals

The Perth Scorchers have cemented top spot on BBL ladder after defeating the Brisbane Heat by six-wickets.

Mitch Marsh returned to the side and lost no form spending time in the Test match squad belting 59 off 34 balls.

Skipper Ashton Turner belted two late sixes to finish 18 not out as the Scorchers past the total in the 19th over.

Batting first the Heat posted 7-155 after Max Bryant smashed a career best 81.

Jason Behrendorff and Peter Hatzoglou claimed two wickets each.

Marsh said post-game "I just gave myself a few balls to get back into it and the game situation probably allowed me to do that tonight,"

"I always think on this wicket you should give yourself a couple of balls to get in, scoring gets easier the longer you bat."

Perth have nominated Marvel Stadium as their home ground for the finals campaign and will host the Qualifier next.
