Scorchers smashed by Sixers

A disappointing Perth Scorchers side have gone down to the Sydney Sixers by 48-runs at Perth Stadium.

Winning the toss and surprisingly bowling first the Scorchers conceded 7-174.

An unbeaten 43 from Tom Curran outplayed Perth in the final overs to propel them to the moderate total.

Chris Jordan was the pick of the bowlers claiming 3-29.

The home side got off to a horror start in the chase slumping to 5-34 losing Liam Livingstone (2), Josh Inglis (7), Cameron Bancroft (1), Cameron Green (1) and Mitchell Marsh (17) in just 37-balls.

Ashton Turner (28) and Ashton Agar (8) combined for a partnership of 47 before both fell in consecutive overs.

Matt Kelly provided some late order hitting finishing 23 not out but the damage was already done and the Scorchers were dismissed for 126 in the 19th over.

Jackson Bird and Sean Abbott the chief destroyers taking three wickets each.

Perth are now one win from four BBL matches and are next in action on New Years Day against the Brisbane Heat on the Gold Coast.
