Scorchers squeeze life out of Sixers

The Perth Scorchers bowling unit has flown the flag once again defending 143 to defeat the Sydney Sixers.

Batting first the Scorchers posted 8/143 all-rounder Aaron Hardie scoring his personal best BBL score 45 off 24 balls.

Hardie combined with some late order hitting from Ashton Agar who belted 29 off 20 balls to boost Perth to the total.

Needing early breakthroughs the Scorchers reduced the Sixers to 4/16 as Lance Morris and Tyman Mills both picked up two early wickets.

AJ Tye then did the damage through the middle order picking up three scalps to restrict the Sixers to 8/133.

Skipper Ashton Turner post game said he was really proud of his team who weren't scheduled to play until Wednesday.

The Scorchers took the place of the Heat who were all forced to isolate after positive COVID Tests within the camp.

Perth will next take on the Sydney Thunder on the Gold Coast on Thursday.
