Scorchers to host Big Bash decider

The Perth Scorchers are the first team in the Big Bash decider after an seven-wicket win over the Sydney Sixers.

Incredibly the Scorchers slumped to 3-22 in pursuit of their target of 152 before an unbeaten 132-run partnership between skipper Ashton Turner (84 from 47) and Cameron Bancroft (53 from 45) guided the home side to victory with nine balls to spare.

Earlier, Jason Behrendorff (2-17) was brilliant up front with the new ball while David Payne (3-33) captured the crucial wicket of Steve Smith (18).

Moises Henriques (58 off 43) and Jordan Silk (47 off 34) combined for an 88-run stand to steady the ship for the Sixers before a late flurry of wickets stalled the climb that finished at 8-151.

Perth have continued their incredible run in the short format of the game making now eight of the 12 BBL deciders.

The Scorchers will be without Lance Morris for the final as he heads in the Australian camp ahead of the India Tour while Jhye Richardson is unlikely to have recovered from a hamstring injury.

Tickets go on sale for the final on Sunday January 29 from 1pm WST, with a three hour window open to Perth Scorchers members from 10am.

The Sixers will now play the winner of Sunday night's Melbourne Renegades v Brisbane Heat knockout match in Sydney on Thursday.
