Shepherd appointed State Team coach

Dual WAFL premiership winning coach Cam Shepherd will lead the WAFL State team in 2022.

Shepherd was in charge at Peel Thunder when the club won its consecutive flags in 2016 & 2017 and departed the club at the end of last season.

He said it was an honour to be appointed to the role.

"I have always been proud of the standard of the WAFL, and it is going to be exciting to put together a squad which will be extremely competitive.

Every player should strive to play at the next level, so we are expecting a strong commitment from those who are selected,”

WA is scheduled to play South Australia in May this year at Optus Stadium as a curtain raiser to West Coast Eagles versus Melbourne.
