Shuey takes over skipper reins

The Eagles have announced Luke Shuey will captain the club going forward.

Shuey was appointed off the back of Shannon Hurn stepping down from the role.

West Coast moved the process along quickly with Shuey ratified by the board before the announcement was made public.

"I look at the captains that have come before me and I feel a little embarrassed to be lined up next to them. It’s not about me, it’s about helping this group get back to where we were in 2018," Shuey said.

“I’m never going to be perfect, but I’m going to try each day to get better. I’m pretty lucky to have Bunga around. The way he’s going, I’ll have to retire and hand the captaincy back to him.
