Simmons reaches agreement with 76ers after pay dispute

Aussie Ben Simmons has reached a settlement with the Philadelphia 36ers according to ESPN.

Simmons was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in February but has been seeking compensation from the Sixers for almost $US20million after he refused to suit up for the team last season.

The bad blood between the pair has been ongoing since the 2021 NBA playoffs.

It was reported that criticism from inside the four walls of the 76ers that led to Simmons to refuse to play and subsequently the club started to fine him for every game not played.

The 26-year-old cited mental health concerns for not being able to take to the court and the 76ers then stopped withholding his salary.

Both sides have agreed to keep the exact amount confidential.
