Australian Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt has backed his undermanned squad to preform against Brazil this week in Adelaide.
The Aussies are without Nick Kyrgios (wrist) and Alex de Minaur (abdominal) who are both sidelined.
Hewitt said he had a lot of confidence in the squad made up of James Duckworth, Jordan Thompson, Alex Bolt, John Millman and John Peers.
“You can either sink or swim in Davis Cup and playing for Australia and I have got a lot of confidence in these boys,” Hewitt told reporters on Tuesday.
The combinations for the tie Hewitt said will be settled later in the week.
Whoever wins the tie will progress to the Davis Cup finals in Spain this November.
