Sixers hammer Scorchers

The Perth Scorchers BBL09 campaign is off to a horror start, the Sydney Sixers triumphant by 8 wickets at the SCG on Wednesday night.
The home side won bat flip and chose to bowl first, Scorchers recruit Liam Livingstone out LBW for a duck to Ben Dwarshuis in the game's opening over.
Subsequent replays suggested the ball pitched outside leg, as calls for the introduction of DRS in the BBL grow louder.
Perth slumped to 4-29 and never recovered, all out for 131 from their 20 overs.
Cameron Green top scored with 36, while captain Mitch Marsh marked his return from a hand injury with 32 in a stuttering batting display.
English import Tom Curran claimed 3-32 for the Sixers, Ben Manenti and Dwarshuis each finishing with two scalps.
The Sydney chase of 132 was led by Western Australian Josh Philippe, who finished 81 not out from 44 balls with eleven fours and three sixes, finishing the game by striking state team mate Jhye Richardson on to the roof of the Ladies Stand.
Chris Jordan claimed the only two wickets to fall for the Scorchers, who return home to play the Melbourne Renegades at Optus Stadium on Saturday.
