Slow ball movement main reason behind Glory loss

Perth Glory coach Tony Popovic has been left to lament slow ball movement as the downfall of his sides performance in the 2-1 loss to Wellington Phoenix.

Glory scored through Dane Ingham after two consecutive goals either side of the break from the Phoenix.

Popovic rang the changes during the second half to produce the goal and it had an immediate effect.

The damage had already been done by the Phoenix who began the brighter of the two.

“From the start we could have been a bit quicker with the ball movement. Popovic said.

“We got punished for two errors in the game. It was a good display overall that certainly deserved something.

“We didn’t let them build the way they normally do.”

Perth are five-points ahead of Adelaide United who they will meet next week.
