Son of a gun wins Siena’s Player of the Day

Taj Schofield’s impressive debut WAFL season has continued, winning the Siena’s Player of the Day in Subiaco’s 79 point thrashing of Perth on Saturday.

Schofield, son of Subiaco premiership player and coach Jarrad kicked four first half goals against the Demons, finishing with 22 disposals to be his side’s best player.




The 20 year old returned to the club he won a Colts premiership with at the end of 2022 after two years with Port Adelaide, unable to break in to a strong power midfield.

His return to the Lions has provided a spark to Beau Wardman’s side, averaging 17 disposals and a goal from his 13 games.

Schofield was adjudged best on ground by the Sport FM commentary team for his performance against the Demons, winning a $100 voucher at station sponsor Siena’s in Leederville for his efforts, awarded to a player each round of the 2023 season.
