Stokes news gives England a boost

England have added all-rounder Ben Stokes to their squad for the upcoming Ashes series.

Stokes has overcome a finger injury and recent mental health battles to now put his hand up for selection.

"I had a break to prioritise my mental wellbeing and I got my finger sorted," Stokes said in the ECB statement.

"I am looking forward to seeing my mates and being on the field with them. I'm ready for Australia."

The England squad is scheduled to quarantine on the Gold Coast before the series starts at the Gabba in Brisbane on December 8.
