Sturridge signs with Glory

Perth Glory have confirmed they have landed former England International Daniel Sturridge for the upcoming season.

Sturridge who scored 68 goals during a six year stint at Liverpool is also a Premier League title winner with Chelsea and a two time UEFA Champions League winner.

The 32-year-old the time was right for him to try a new challenge.

“When the opportunity came about it felt like the right thing to do, to take my talent somewhere where I can enjoy my football in a competitive league and try and help the team be as successful as they possibly can be.

“I’m going to put my best foot forward, work hard and try and help the team win each game that comes by."

Locking in Sturridge means Glory fans will no longer see Diego Castro in the purple colours with the new signing filling the clubs last marquee spot.
