There's a new leader at the top of the WAFL ladder

Subiaco moved to the top of the ladder with a 53-point win over West Perth at Leederville Oval.

Ben Sokol (21 disposals, 12 marks, five goals), Zac Clarke (23 disposals, 45 hit-outs, 1 goal), and Liam Hickmott (23 disposals, 12 tackles) continued outstanding seasons for the Lions, while the Falcons’ loss was soured by injuries to Mark Hutchings and Zac Langdon.

Peel Thunder arrested a two-game losing streak by beating a plucky Perth by 19 points at Mineral Resources Park.

Fremantle-listed forward Sebit Kuek starred with six goals for the Thunder as Blair Bell (19 disposals) continued to impact in his new midfield role, with Charlie Thompson (30 disposals, 10 tackles) and Jack Avery (27 disposals, 12 marks) prominent as per usual for the Demons.

East Perth shored up their position in the top five with a 23-point win over South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

The midfield battle did not disappoint, with Royals Angus Schumacher (38 disposals) and Angus Scott (34 disposals, 1 goal) going head-to-head with Bulldogs Jake Florenca (28 disposals), Tom Blechynden (27 disposals, six tackles) and Jacob Dragovich (24 disposals).

Swan Districts produced another competitive effort but it was not enough to pick up another win, with East Fremantle victorious by 24 points at the WACA.

Key forwards Dillon O’Reilly (15 disposals, six goals) and Hugh Dixon (24 disposals, 15 hit-outs, 1 goal) fired for the Sharks, as Aidan Clarke (24 disposals) and Jarvis Pina (23 disposals, 5 tackles) battled hard for the Black Ducks.
