Turner 100 not enough for WA

WA have lost their opening 50-over game of the summer at the WACA, going down to Tasmania by four wickets.

Stand-in skipper Ashton Turner showed his dangerous hitting ability, smashing 15 boundaries to bring up his maiden List-A ton. He made exactly 100 runs off 121 balls.

AJ Tye was the standout with the ball, he snared 4-39 from 10 overs for WA. He also hit a career-best knock of 44 from 31 balls.

After winning the toss and batting first WA were bowled out for 218 in the 48th over after looking like being dismissed for less than 100 when the seventh wicket fell at 81.

Tasmanian skipper Jordan Silk hit an unbeaten 90 from 99 balls to be named player of the match as his side brought up the target in the 44th over.
