WA announce Shield squad

Western Australia has added genuine pace for the Sheffield Shield match against Victoria, with speedster Lance Morris and David Moody both included in the 14 man squad for the fixture starting Thursday.

Morris hasn't played for Western Australia since the first meeting with Victoria in Adelaide as part of the Shield hub to start the season, while Moody hasn't featured at domestic level this summer in any form of the game in a frustrating year for the tall quick.

Uncapped off-spinner Corey Roccicchioli is a chance to debut, having been included in the Shield squad for the first time.

Liam Guthrie and Liam O'Connor make way from the group that drew with Queensland at the Gabba in their most recent clash, meaning at least two changes for Adam Voges' side in what is a must win clash to keep their Shield finals hopes alive.

WA currently sit fourth on the 2020-21 Sheffield Shield ladder with one win and five draws.

The WA players involved in Australia’s T20 Series in New Zealand completed their self-quarantine yesterday and were not considered for selection in this fixture.

The clash commences at 10:30 AM AWST on Thursday, with all of the action on 91.3 Sport FM.

WA Squad: Shaun Marsh (c), Cameron Bancroft, Jake Carder, Hilton Cartwright, Cameron Gannon, Cameron Green, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis, Matt Kelly, David Moody, Lance Morris, Joel Paris, Correy Rocchiccioli, Sam Whiteman.
