WA Golf Open to go ahead

Golf WA have confirmed the states most prolific and prestigious tournaments will be held later this year.

The WA PGA event will be played in Kalgoorlie from October 7-10 before the Royal Fremantle Golf Course hosts the $60,000 WA Open between October 15-18.

Due to WA border restrictions only West Aussie golfers will be able to compete in the tournament.

Golf WA CEO Gary Thomas was delighted that the tournament will progress as the best from the west.

“Whilst we are all aware of the unique circumstances we are currently living in, it is pleasing that we will be able to hold our iconic flagship event, which will still have a field consisting of high profile WA Professionals as well as our leading male and female amateurs.” Thomas said.

The WA Open All Abilities event will also still go ahead under the same conditions as the professionals.
