WA on top of the Sheffield Shield table

WA will head into Sunday's Sheffield Shield match in Tasmania on top of the table after a seven wicket win over Queensland.

Set a total of just 95 in the final innings of the game acting captain Cameron Bancroft finished 47 not out to guide WA home. First innings centurion Josh Philippe ended the game with red ink not out on 17.

Jhye Richardson claimed man of the match honours after claiming eight wickets for the match including a five wicket haul in the second innings to break the game wide open.

Next week's match against Tasmania in Hobart is the late Shield game before the BBL game.

WA are expected to be without skipper Shaun Marsh (calf) and left arm quick Joel Paris (hamstring).
