Walker wins Rising Star nomination



Fremantle defender Brandon Walker has won the Rising Star nomination for round 13 of the AFL season, becoming the second Docker to be recognised in 2022.


Walker, recruited from WAFL club East Fremantle having played his junior football at the Kardinya Junior Football Club has become a mainstay of the Dockers backline this season, playing 10 games and averaging 12 disposals per match.


The 19 year old played his best match of his young career against Hawthorn on Saturday, winning 16 disposals, laying six tackles and being a part of six score involvements, kicking his first career goal.


Walker becomes the second Fremantle player to be nominated for the Rising Star nomination this season, following on from Heath Chapman who was nominated for his performance against North Melbourne in round 8.
