Wildcats slump to the 36ers

The COVID hang over continues for the Perth Wildcats defeated 87-74 at the hands of the Adelaide 36ers.

Perth slumped to as far as 28-points behind during the second quarter with signs showing that the Wildcats have only been able to complete two full training sessions since 13 squad members were laid low through the pandemic.

Vic Law was the best for the Cats with 16 points and 14 rebounds while Bryce Cotton scored 12 points but wasn't able to force any dominance on the contest.

Coach Scott Morrison said they did not come out with the effort required at the start of the game.

"We didn't have multiple efforts defensively, we let them shoot uncontested shots ... I think that helped get them going and built their confidence."

Perth did launch an attack during the second half and got as close as eight points butt left to much to do late.

The Wildcats are back in action on Saturday when they play the Illawarra Hawks.
