Yeo handed one match ban

Dual Eagles best and fairest Elliot Yeo's horror 2022 season has continued, handed a one match ban for striking Swan Districts midfielder Aidan Clarke on Saturday.

Yeo, who has only featured in two AFL games this season due to continued injury troubles, had his strike to Clarke deemed by the WAFL’s Match Review Panel as intentional conduct, low impact and high contact.

The incident followed a marking contest in the final quarter, where Clarke had taken the Eagle’s legs out from under him, resulting in a free kick.

Yeo remonstrated with Clarke, who immediately clutched his face in his hands after appearing to be struck by the dual All-Australian’s forearm.

He can serve one week of his suspension during the Eagles’ AFL bye this weekend, as the incident occurred in a WAFL match.

West Coast have until 9am on Wednesday to appeal the verdict, or will be without Yeo for their round 8 WAFL clash with Claremont on Saturday at Revo Fitness Stadium.

Yeo has battled osteitis pubis over the past two seasons, featuring in just two games in 2022 and only 14 of the club's last 42 matches.

The 28 year old was playing his second game back in the WAFL, gathering 16 disposals in 80 minutes of game time after playing a half last weekend against East Perth.

Should the Eagles accept the suspension, Yeo will still be available for AFL selection after the bye against Geelong on June 18th.
