Peel Thunder 21.9 (135) def. West Perth 10.4 (64)

Peel Thunder put on a dominant display on Saturday in front of a home crowd, defeating the Falcons by 71 points and moving up to 6th on the ladder.

Their forward line was operating like a well-oiled machine producing six multiple goal kickers, Corey Tregenza leading the way with four.

Both teams recorded over 70% accuracy in front of goals, but it was the home side’s ball movement that was the difference requiring far less effort to get the footy into the hands of their goalkickers.

Falcons’ state squad selectees Kane Bevan and Tyler Keitel put their hearts into it, with Keitel notching up 23 disposals and two goals as a key forward, also taking a whopping 13 marks for the day.

West Perth are yet to get their season started, now winless after 5 rounds.

West Coast 9.11 (65) def by. East Perth 16.12 (108)

The Royals dominated at Mineral Resources Park triumphing in a 43-point victory over West Coast.

Midfield duo Hamish Brayshaw and Angus Scott were unstoppable, racking up 33 touches each and combining for 9 entries.

Ben Middleton and Mitchell Schofield benefitted from the midfield efficiency kicking four and three goals respectively, and it was a six-goal third quarter that was all too much for the Eagles to keep up with.

West Coast won the ruck contest however, with Matt Flynn tapping it out 34 times to Scott Jones’ 30 – help from Harry Barnett and Jack Williams assisting the home side.

The Eagles dropped to 5th while the Royals moved themselves up to 4th.

Claremont 14.17 (101) def. Swan Districts 9.8 (62)

The Tigers edge further away from the competition after a 39-point victory over Swan Districts at home, making it five in a row to start 2026.

With scores level at quarter time, 4.7 from Claremont saw them pull away with inaccuracy robbing them of a larger deficit going into half time.

The four Tigers selected in the state squad earlier this  week put on a show – Callan England now making a serious Sandover Medal case with 35 disposals, 7 marks, 4 tackles and 5 entries.

Dominant ruckwork from Ollie Eastland saw the home side record 39 more hit outs and allowed their midfield to get busy – Lucas Impey’s absence sorely missed by the Swans.

Swan Districts sit in 9th with just one win on the board for the year so far.

East Fremantle 7.5 (47) def by. Perth 11.12 (78)

The Sharks continue a shaky start to 2026, losing at home by 31 to the Demons.

A close first half saw the margin at just seven points going into the break, but a three goal third gave Perth the edge they needed to get away with the lead.

Charlie Constable and Brandan Parfitt collected 36 and 31 touches respectively, combining for nine entries for the away side.

Lochlan Paton and Kane Johnston were the beneficiaries of the Dees’ midfield craft, kicking three and two goals each.

East Fremantle sit in 8th, hoping to build some momentum with a win over the Swans next week at Steel Blue Oval.

Subiaco 10.9 (69) def. by South Fremantle 11.6 (72)

Round 5 closed out with a thriller, the Dogs victorious by three on the road and now sitting in 2nd by a game.

The Dogs led by two at quarter time, with Subiaco wrestling the lead back to go into the second half up by one.

4.3 wasn’t enough for the home side in the final term, South Fremantle holding off a late surge and kicking 3.1 themselves.

Subiaco were more efficient at getting the ball into their goalkickers’ hands with nine more entries, but inaccuracy robbed them from the win.

Jake Florenca shone in his 100th game, notching up 35 touches and a goal while star youngster Lucas Robinson recorded two majors for the day.
