Subiaco 11.6 (72) def. East Fremantle 7.5 (47)

Subiaco were in control throughout their match with East Fremantle on Saturday, pulling away in the final quarter to chalk up a 25-point victory.

Dominating the hit out differential by 17, Steven Miller and Jack Mayo combined for 50 hit outs, making centre bounce clearance a key factor in the Lions’ ability to get out of the middle and control the scoreboard.

Midfielders Stefan Giro and Marlin Corbett chalked up 24 disposals, also providing eight entries each for the home side.

Giro hit the scoreboard with a major, but it was Jack Mayo and Nicholas Girolami who bagged three each to give Subiaco a decent percentage boost.

The win moves the Lions up into fifth while East Fremantle drop down to seventh.

South Fremantle 11.12 (78) def. West Perth 5.9 (39)

South Fremantle fought their way to a much needed win after their bye, recording three losses before the break and notching up a 39-point victory on Saturday over West Perth.

It was a competitive first quarter with two points the difference at the siren, but the Falcons’ inability to score a major in the second and third terms saw the Dogs get away.

Jake Florenca had leather poisoning with 37 disposals, also taking four marks, seven tackles and producing seven entries.

Jacob Sax and Chad Pearson made it difficult for West Perth to produce scoring shots – they took 20 marks between them and only allowed the Falcons to score 31.1% of the time they went into their forward 50 despite only recording four less entries.

Connor West was best on ground for the Falcons with 29 disposals, recording two goals as well.

Peel Thunder 23.4 (142) def. East Perth 6.8 (44)

Peel Thunder are the new top dogs in town after a 98-point thrashing over the Royals this weekend, now overtaking the early Claremont frontrunners to sit in first.

The Thunder burst out the gates with eight goals in the first quarter, remaining deadly accurate throughout the game and kicking at 85% to chalk up 23 majors.

Jeremy Sharp was one of many standouts for the home side yet again – he had 35 touches, 10 marks, two tackles, six entries and booted two goals.

Oscar McDonald had a big day out as he was left out of the Dockers side this week to make way for Brennan Cox’s return – he took 12 marks in the backline and had 22 touches.

Peel produced seven multiple goal scorers – Tobyn Murray and Charlie Nicholls lead the way with three each.
