The Dockers surpassed their club record of nine straight wins after a 5-goal victory against St Kilda in round 11, and they’ve now set the bar higher with an eleventh straight win on the road at the Gabba.

Fremantle had their work cut out for them travelling over to Brisbane to face the Lions who were expected to be a hungry side coming off two losses – one of which came from a grand final rematch in front of a home crowd.

The Voss-Amiss-Treacy attacking trio has been difficult to stop in 2026, and the three combined for 11 major scores on the weekend – Amiss and Voss leading the way with 4.4 and 4.3 respectively. 

Freo’s premiership window seems to be more open than ever, but coach Justin Longmuir and the playing group are keeping their heads down and eying off a run for the flag in September.

Former Dockers player Connor Blakely joined Sports Breakfast for Blakey’s Breakdown this morning.

“A lot of the chatter from JL and the players is like, they haven’t actually achieved anything – which is true,” he said.

“Having 11 on the trail or whatever it is now is like, it’s fantastic. But I’m sure everyone at the organisation would happily trade that record for a premiership come the end of the year.”

Fans have been kept on their feet throughout the season, with Fremantle down at half time in three of their last five wins.

A last quarter surge seen in the Dockers’ clashes with Hawthorn and the Bulldogs has been the theme of these comeback wins, giving fans belief that something special is brewing within the playing group.

“11 wins in a row in any sort of sport or competition is super impressive and I think the thing that has been the most impressive from an outsider perspective looking in is that they just find ways to win.”

“The ability for them to in-game through JL and the coaching staff to problem solve and work out, ‘okay, this isn’t really working for us, let’s change things up’, I think that just shows the sign of such a maturity for them.”

AFL.com.au released their mid-season All-Australian team, and the Dockers would be delighted to see four players projected to make the team at the end of the year.

Luke Jackson, Josh Treacy and Shai Bolton all made the cut as well as Murphy Reid in just his second year of AFL football after taking out the Rising Star award last year.

“They’ve got such a good strong core group of players that have played that 50 plus to 80 plus amount of games…. Neil Erasmus and Matty Johnson and Michael Frederick and then the other more I guess guys that get the accolades year on year like Andy [Brayshaw] and Caleb [Serong] and Luke Jackson.”

“Their forward line is very hard to come up against. Voss, Amiss and Treacy, you sort of have to have two of your better defenders on two of them and then you might have one that isn’t quite sort of matching up super well and one gets off the chain.”

Sean Darcy returned to football over the weekend playing in Peel’s clash with West Coast and recording 36 touches.

He’ll be looking to take Mason Cox’s spot in Fremantle’s best 23 – the option providing the Dockers with ruck security in the back end of the season.

“The back end is quite an important period where there’s going to be guys that have played a lot of football and they might be feeling a bit sore or have some lingering things that are going on. I’ll say it will definitely be an opportunity for Sean at some point.”

Fremantle travelled back home after Saturday’s win, now staying in WA for three games in a row in the state.

The side will make the drive down to Bunbury to face North Melbourne this weekend before coming back up to Perth for their clash with Geelong and the Gold Coast at Optus Stadium.
