The Perth Wildcats have cemented their place in the 2025-26 NBL playoffs after three wins in a row, now sitting fourth on the ladder.
With three games remaining until the end of the regular season, there is no room for complacency for the Wildcats when they face the Brisbane Bullets who sit in tenth.
Assistant coach Ben Peterson joined SportFM this morning.
“Anyone can win on any night in this league and they’re professionals and have plenty of talented guys, so we’ve got to handle business on Friday night,” he said.
“We’re very focused on Brisbane and getting that done and then we’ll move from there.”
Cairns kept Perth on their toes last Friday, proving that it’s anyone’s game right up until the end of the season.
“It was a very dangerous game. They’re talented, really have nothing to lose at this point in the season. They got a free swing at us at home and I thought we did a really good job staying together, staying disciplined, staying solid and ultimately we came away with a win.”
Head coach John Rillie touched on the role Kristian Dolittle has played in helping the Wildcats secure they’re playoff berth, with Peterson reinforcing the talent he adds to the team.
“He’s the best two-way player in the league. There’s not a single guy that has to carry that amount of weight on both the offensive and defensive side of the floor.”
“It speaks to his motor, the work he puts in in terms of taking care of his body, working on his game. It’s truly impressive what he’s able to do.”
“He’s guarding their best player, and he’s initiating everything we do offensively. Like, there’s only so many people in the world that can do that. It’s very incredible to watch.”
The Wildcats take on the Brisbane Bullets this Friday at home, followed by the Kings and 36ers to wrap up the regular season.
