This weekend They’re Off and Racing debuts on Saturday morning previewing all the action to come that day from Ascot.
They’re Off and Racing will be appointment listening to get the inside word ahead of the premier Saturday WA metropolitan race meeting, this weekend taking on extra significance as the first of three Group 1 races across the Pinnacles gets underway with the time-honoured Group 1 Railway Stakes.
Over the next month WA’s leading thoroughbred race caller Darren McAullay will be joined by a rotating panel of experts headlined by Scott Embry for an in-depth preview of each Saturday’s Ascot program across The Pinnacles, including the highly anticipated Railway Stakes, Winterbottom Stakes, Northerly Stakes and Gold Rush.
The show will also become available on podcast within 30-minutes of the show’s completion.

SportFM Chairman Jack Crawshaw said without doubt a Saturday Ascot preview show is one of the most important shows for the industry on radio. We look forward to hearing Darren and the team over the next month in what is such a thrilling time for WA thoroughbred racing.
They’re Off and Racing will air Saturdays 8am on 91.3FM around the metropolitan area, online at sportfm.com.au and can also be heard via the Community Radio Plus App which can be downloaded for free wherever you download your apps from.
SportFM will make further announcements in the new year regarding coverage to support the racing codes in WA to compliment the station’s current offering of all sports especially grassroots and amateur clubs and competitions.
