January’s Summer Scorcher winner Madhi Girl trained by Simon A Miller may line up for the last time in the stable’s colours in this Saturday’s H.G Bolton Sprint at Belmont.

Speaking on SportFM’s They’re Off and Racing Industry Podcast on Thursday Miller confirmed that she would be put on the Inglis Digital Sales.

“The listeners wouldn’t know but she goes on the Inglis Digital on Friday night, goes live and the sale concludes Wednesday.

“Testing the waters as they say.”

When asked why the owners had chosen this path Miller said they didn’t know if they wanted to breed from her or not.

“Sometimes you get good money when you sell with racing still left in them, I think their just dipping the toes in and having a look. You get good luck selling horses at the right age, I think if your punching them around at seven or eight you don’t get the lick of the ice cream from both ends with racing and breeding. You dangle the carrot and see what happens and you never know.”

Madhi Girl goes around following a mid-field finish in the Beaufine Stakes a fortnight ago and Miller believes it would be hard for the owners to sell if she came out and blew them away on Saturday.

“Then they’ve got another query or quandry.”

SportFM’s They’re Off and Racing Industry podcast drops each Thursday morning whilst a live preview show airs each Saturday morning from 8am with leading WA Racing Analysts Scott Embry and Digby Beacham.
