EAST PERTH 1.4 (10) def by. EAST FREMANTLE 6.3 (39)
East Fremantle locked away a comfortable win against East Perth away from home in a game that was relatively dry on the scoring front. Both sides battled away, with East Fremantle kicking the only two goals of the game heading into the final break.
In the final term, Mia Pappas kicked the Royals’ only goal, but it was too late to stage a comeback against the Sharks, who tore away and kicked four goals, blowing the final margin to 29 points.
Royal Jess Verbrugge was potent with 29 touches, six marks and five inside 50s, while Elly Sara (24 touches, six marks) and Layla Firns (22 disposals, three tackles) were also solid performers.
Despite winning, East Fremantle had fewer disposals overall, with Jae Flynn (10 tackles, five inside 50s) and skipper Ashleigh Gomes (six tackles, five inside 50s) leading their disposal count with 17. Eve Wilson-Sieber finished with two majors.
SWAN DISTRICTS 6.6 (42) def. WEST PERTH 5.7 (37)
Swan Districts survived a late surge from West Perth in the fourth quarter, coming away with a handy five-point win. It’s been a rough start to the season for both 2024 finalists, with teams fighting to get their season back on track in a tight contest.
The margin was even come half-time, but the Swans pushed it out to 13 points in the final term. The Falcons cut the margin down late, but it wasn’t enough to keep their opponent from securing a back-to-back win.
Young gun Carys D’Addario (25 disposals, seven tackles, four marks) added another strong performance to her AFLW Draft resume, while Kayley King (23 disposals, one goal) and Jamie Henry (22 disposals, three tackles) were also prominent.
For the Falcons, Mia Russo (24 disposals, five tackles, five inside 50s) was solid, as were Madison Dodd (18 disposals, eight tackles) and Taylor Ferguson (17 disposals, eight tackles).
Kayla Van Den Heever and Taylah Edwards both kicked two majors for their respective sides.

PEEL THUNDER 6.6 (42) def by. CLAREMONT 10.6 (66)
Claremont has kept its winning streak alive down in Mandurah, thwarting a brave final quarter comeback from the home side, Peel Thunder.
The Tigers got on top of Peel early, condemning them to a scoreless first term, while booting 3.4 to distance themselves by 22 points. But in the final quarter, Peel kicked four goals of their own, but the margin was too much for them to chase down.
Dual-Dhara Kerr medallist Jayme Harken (28 disposals, 11 tackles) showed her class and received support from Juliet Kelly (22 disposals, five tackles, one goal) and Sasha Goranova (17 disposals, 14 tackles, one goal).
Peel’s Chloe Wrigley (31 disposals,10 tackles) was outstanding, as was young defender Evie Cowcher (28 disposals, seven tackles).
Tigers Rachel Ortlepp and Jessica Ritchie kicked three and two goals respectively, while Krystal Carter was responsible for two of Peel’s majors.
SUBIACO 6.11 (47) def. SOUTH FREMANTLE 1.4 (10)
Subiaco keeps making winning a habit in 2025, after toppling South Fremantle with ease by 37 points to win five straight games.
Both sides ended the first quarter without a goal to their name, however, Subiaco went on to boot 6.11, and it could have been more if it weren’t for inaccuracy. South Fremantle jagged one goal, with Zoe Huggett getting the breakthrough in the third quarter.
Ex-Eagle Krstel Petrevski (34 disposals, seven tackles) continued her stellar season, while AFLW veteran Dana Hooker (27 disposals, eight marks) continues to build back into footy nicely. Eva Popovsky, Jorja Schell and Maggie McLachlan each kicked two goals.
Caitlin Pears (17 disposals, nine tackles) was a highlight for South Fremantle, as were Hunter Cronin (19 disposals, two tackles) and Hannah Burt (18 disposals, seven tackles).
Perth had the bye this week.
