Round 12 of the 2026 WAFL season kicked off with the Royals taking on the Eagles under the lights at Sullivan Logistics Stadium.
West Coast controlled a close game and led at the end of every break, but it was the Royals’ ability to keep the visitors goalless in the final term and put 2.2 on the board which got them the win.
Tyler Lindberg (24 disposals, 5 marks, 7 tackles, 7 inside 50s) and Liam Tedesco (21 disposals, 2 marks, 10 tackles, 7 inside 50s) combined for 14 of the Royals’ 39 entries – the home side making the most of their opportunities, accurate in front of goals.
Ben Middleton, Sebit Kuek and Aniello Pizzolante all chalked up two majors each.
Lucca Grego (27 disposals, 8 marks, 1 tackle, 2 inside 50s) and Harry Schoenberg (26 disposals, 2 marks, 5 tackles, 6 inside 50s) were best on ground for the Eagles – both players hitting the scoreboard with a goal.
East Fremantle 10.5 (65) def by. Claremont 10.11 (71)
Claremont are back on the winners list after a six-point victory over the Sharks on the road.
The Tigers slowly pulled away through the mid terms after a tight first quarter, stretching out the lead to 27 points at three quarter time.
East Fremantle gave themselves a look at a comeback win with 5.1 in the final term, but Claremont held on with 1.4 and walked away with the win.
Callan England was dominant in the midfield with 33 disposals – Oliver Eastland’s ruck work proving beneficial recording 47 hit outs.
Jaiden Hunter and Kieran Gowdie were lethal in the forward line kicking four and three goals respectively for the Tigers.
Perth 12.7 (79) def. South Fremantle 6.9 (45)
It was a tale of two halves at Mineral Resources Park on Saturday, with the Demons jumping into third after a 34-point victory over the Bulldogs.
Down at half time, Perth booted seven unanswered goals to give themselves a 31-point lead heading into the final term.

Charlie Constable and Matthew Taylor dominated the midfield with the help of Demons ruck duo Zac Harding and Joshua Edwards who combined for 39 hit outs.
Perth had four multiple goal kickers – Aaron Clarke leading the way with three while Jack Kluske, Kane Johnston and William Tilbee all booted two each.
Isiah Winder was best on ground for the Bulldogs – he had 26 disposals, four marks, two tackles, five entries and also kicked a goal.
Subiaco 9.6 (60) def. Swan Districts 8.8. (56)
Subiaco held off a late Swans surge to take away the win by four points on Saturday.
Despite a lower scoring shot conversion rate from their inside 50 entries, the Lions were more accurate in front of goals and were able to kick a winning score.
Jack Mayo stood out with 22 disposals, five marks, five tackles, four inside 50 entries and two goals – he helped Steven Miller out in the ruck with 12 hit outs of his own.
Lucas Impey’s mammoth effort in the ruck wasn’t enough to get the Swans over the line – he had 47 hit outs.
Campbell Henderson and Richard Bartlett added five goals to the Lions’ tally to get them over the line.
West Perth 5.4 (34) def by. Peel Thunder 17.20 (122)
It was a rough day for West Perth on Saturday, going down to Peel Thunder by 88 points.
The ladder leaders were robbed of an outright demolition as inaccuracy saw them put up 20 behinds – the win stretching their percentage out to 161.04%.
Bailey Banfield stood out in the midfield, putting up 29 disposals, seven marks, two tackles and provided six entries.
Jeremy Sharp was one of many potential best on ground players from the ladder leaders – he had 25 disposals and kicked three majors.
The Thunder created five multiple goal scorers – Sharp and Corey Tregenza leading with three each – the side finishing up with 10 different goal scorers for the day.
