Claremont reclaim second on the ladder with a 32-point win over the Royals on the road on Saturday.

A 3.3 to 1.0 second term gave the Tigers the edge going into the second half but East Perth came out with an accurate 4.0 in the third term to bring the margin to two goals in Claremont’s favour at three quarter time.

The Tigers kicked four more goals to ice the game – inside 50 craft proving the difference with 12 more entries than their opponents – Samuel Alvarez, Declan Mountford, Anthony Davis and Zac Mainwaring combining for 22 of the side’s 47 inside 50s.

Samuel Alvarez had an outstanding game with 30 touches and two goals while co-captain Bailey Rodgers, and Anthony Davis both had scoreboard impact from the centre contest – Rodgers finished up with 26 and a goal while Davis had 23 and a major.

Jake Soutar was best on for the Royals with 26 disposals, seven marks, two tackles and two entries.

Peel Thunder 11.11 (77) def. Subiaco 11.3 (69)

The Lions fell short of pulling off an upset win on the road over Peel Thunder – the home side now making that 10 wins in a row and sitting two games clear on top of the ladder.

Subiaco started strong with 6.1 but Peel came back to hold a three-point lead at half time – the Lions refused to give up and wrestled it back to a two-point deficit to set up a blockbuster final quarter but 3.4 from Peel was enough to lock up the four points.

Sean Darcy dominated the ruck contest with 39 hit outs – he also had 23 touches and nine inside 50 entries.

Bailey Banfield had 28 touches while Jacob Hewitt, Corey Tregenza, Tobyn Murray and Aiden Riddle all had two goals each for Peel.

Jaxon McGowan was best on ground for Subiaco with 29 disposals, while Ryan Borchet put on scoreboard pressure with four majors.

West Perth 13.12 (90) def by. West Coast 15.12 (102)

West Perth fell short of their second win of the season after a competitive performance against West Coast – two goals the margin at the final siren.

It was a strong start from the Falcons leading by a goal at quarter time, but it was a controlled second half from the Eagles that brought it home – they sit equal fifth with the Royals and Lions as four games are left to play in the home and away season.

Connor West wore his heart on his sleeve with 31 touches and a goal for the Falcons, but Tyler Keitel might have snatched best-on for West Perth with a six goal haul.

Finlay Macrae (32 disposals, 5 marks, 3 tackles, 3 inside 50s) and Clay Hall (28 disposals, 4 marks, 6 tackles, 4 inside 50s, 1 goal) gave West Coast the edge they needed in the midfield to take home the four points.

Cooper Duff-Tyler impressed in his first WAFL game since round 7 – he booted four goals from 18 touches for the Eagles.
