With a five-point margin heading into the final term, the Demons powered through to score 5.1 to 2.4 to seal the win in the fourth.

Despite the Lions having more opportunities to score, it was inaccuracy that haunted them – they kicked 35% of their chances to Perth’s 80%.

Brandan Parfitt was best on ground for the victors with 37 disposals and two goals, also providing seven entries.

The Zac Harding and Joshua Edwards ruck duo is paying dividends for Perth, they combined for 53 hit outs and Edwards hit the scoreboard with a major.

East Perth dominated the Dogs to swap positions on the ladder, with the Royals now sitting in third after an eight goal victory.

Angus Scott and Tom North were best on ground for the Royals – Scott chalked up 33 touches, 11 marks, two tackles and five entries while North had 31, 10 marks, one tackle and three inside 50s.

Ruck control thanks to Scott Jones helped the midfielders generate eight different goal scorers, four of which picked up two each for the home side.

Isaiah Winder had a fantastic game for South Fremantle with 27 touches, also putting on scoreboard pressure with a goal.

The top five are beginning to tighten up as Claremont drop a few wins, now only separated by two games.
