Perth 6.11 (47) def. East Fremantle 2.5 (17)

Perth kicked off the penultimate WAFLW round with a presiding victory over East Fremantle by five goals.

The Sharks started strong but their inability to kick a goal in the second half saw the Demons run away with the lead – 3.6 to 0.3 was the score line in the last two quarters.

Molly Warne controlled the hit out game with 36 hit outs – Perth chalking up 19 more total than the visitors.

Holly Britton and Amy Trindade were solid in the midfield with 24 touches each, both combining for seven inside 50 entries.

The Demons played more efficient footy on the day with a 42.5% score conversion rate on inside 50 entries, the Sharks putting up a poor 21.88%.

South Fremantle 9.6 (60) def. Subiaco 7.5 (47)

South Fremantle are on a four game win streak after a victory at home over Subiaco.

It was a close game all around with a one goal difference going into the second half – a 4.1 third quarter put the Lions ahead at three quarter time but 4.2 from South Freo in the last quarter was enough to walk away with a 13-point victory.

Kate Newson was dominant in the middle with 40 hit outs – a plus 23 hit out count giving the Dogs the edge they needed to get the win.

Kiana Lee lead a pack of multiple goal kickers with four from her 16 touches, Madison Hadley close behind with three majors and Shannyn Pomersbach with two.

Lisa Steane and Paige Sheppard did everything they could to get Subiaco over the line but just fell short – they had 31 and 29 disposals respectively.

Swan Districts 12.11 (82) def. Peel Thunder 1.3 (9)

Swan Districts are steaming towards finals in the top spot, chalking up their thirteenth win of the season over Peel by a whopping 74 points.

The Swans were dominant all over the ground, leading the Thunder by 18 in hit outs and 24 in inside 50 entries.

Jaime Henry continues to dominate on the ball with 32 touches – she’s averaging 33.6 disposals a game and is looking to poll heavily in the Dhara Kerr Medal.

Taylah Edwards led the goalkickers with four while Summer Yarran was close behind with three and Ashley Sharp, two.

Chloe Reilly and Shaya Yarran impressed with their ability to hit the scoreboard – Reilly finished with 22 touches and Yarran had 20, also combining for nine inside 50s.

East Perth 3.1 (19) def by. West Perth 9.15 (69)

West Perth jump into sixth with a presiding victory over the Royals on the road on Sunday, snapping a three game losing streak.

The Falcons started hot, kicking six unanswered goals before the half – the Royals struggling to find a goal until the third quarter.

Cara Dziegielewski dominated the ruck contest with 24 hit outs to chalk up a 21 hit differential – she also had 20 touches and a goal.

Ellee McEvoy and Lexi Strachan were impactful in the middle with 26 and 18 disposals respectively, both players hitting the scoreboard with a goal.

Katherine Bennett was the only multiple goal kicker for the victors, finishing up the day with two.
